Welcome to the Grayslake Historical Society

Founded in 1976, the society is dedicated to promoting and preserving the Village of Grayslake’s pioneering history that has charted more than a century of progress.

Grayslake is located in central Lake County, Illinois about 40 miles north of Chicago and 14 miles west of Lake Michigan and is home to more than 20,000 people. Both long-time residents and first-time visitors are invited to explore this site and learn more about the society, the village and the Grayslake Municipal Historical Museum.

Curious Grayslake

The Grayslake Central Honors US History students, in conjunction with the Grayslake Historical Society have created a series of short videos centered around questions students wanted answered about their town, their school and surrounding areas.  We have compiled their questions and final videos on a website that can be found here: http://curiousgrayslake.weebly.com/
